Ms. Kathy, Director
Ms. Kathy has been the director of Kids ‘R’ Kids Cypress since November 2010. She has been with Kids ‘R’ Kids since 2005. Kathy began her career as a teacher in Suite 150, the ten to eighteen month olds, and received her Child Development Associate in 2006. When KRK Cypress opened in 2007, she became the Assistant Director. She took over as director 3 ½ years later.
Kathy was born in Galveston, Texas and had the opportunity to travel around the world and experience a wide array of cultures from the time she was a young child due to the fact that her father was in the Army. She began working at age seventeen in the retail industry but after years of long hours and working on the weekends she decided to pursue a different path. As a mom she had always admired teachers so she began working at a Mother’s Day Out at a local church. This eventually brought her to Kids ‘R’ Kids.
Knowing that she is making a difference each day in childrens’ lives is what has kept Kathy in this industry. Getting to see newborns turn into toddlers and then watching them move up from room to room has been so rewarding for her. She is an invaluable asset to Kids R Kids and makes things run smoothly each day.
Kathy is friendly, personable, and organized. “Everything has a home,” is her motto and if you have ever seen her office, you know that is the truth! She is happily married to David and has two children, Zachary and Kendall. She stays involved in her kids’ extracurricular activities and she also spends much of her time volunteering at their schools. Kathy is a huge Dallas Cowboy football fan and enjoys watching her son play baseball and her daughter play softball.
Ms. Daria, Assistant Director
Ms.Daria joined the Kids ‘R’ Kids Cypress team in December 2010. She received her Associates of Arts degree from HCC and is currently working on her Bachelors Degree. Daria is from New Orleans, Louisiana and had a nine year career in the banking industry before joining the Kids ‘R’ Kids family. She decided a change was in order because she wanted to spend more time with her two young sons. Her two boys just happened to attend this Kids ‘R’ Kids and Daria often joked about working here. Ms. Kathy offered her a position and the opportunity to be in the same place with her kids each day, as well as getting to see them socialize and progress. Daria knew this was the best of both worlds and happily accepted!
Daria has been married for nine years, and as mentioned above she has two wonderful sons, Steven and Daniel. She is very family oriented and enthusiastic about the future of the young generation at Kids ‘R’ Kids. This makes her a great fit for the Kids ‘R’ Kids family!
Our Staff
All Kids ‘R’ Kids faculty & personnel are required to follow state regulations that apply to training. Our staff is trained in First Aid/CPR, Infectious Disease Control, Injury Prevention, and Child Abuse Awareness. Additional training in curriculum, child development, classroom arrangement, classroom management, age appropriate activities, nutrition, field trip planning and OSHA regulations to provide the staff with skills needed to create a quality learning environment. The staff is encouraged to further their education through CDA and CCP programs and are given opportunities to attend professional training conferences. |
